Places to eat in Madison

If you are looking for a specific type of food, please feel free to ask Betsy or Brian for advice. Below are some suggestions.

Lunch

There are many excellent food carts in Library Mall; best when the weather is nice.

The Memorial Union has several eateries inside and brats/burgers/ice cream on the terrace by the lake.

There are many restaurants on or near State Street, which is a short walk from Van Vleck Hall. Some of our favorites are: Sunroom Cafe, Poke Bowl, Ramen Kid, Fugu (Sichuan), Koi Sushi, Mediterranean Cafe, MOOYAH Burgers and Fries, Naf Naf Grill, Potbelly Sandwiches, Hungry Badger Cafe, Chen's Dumpling House, Koi Sushi (also has Chinese food), Forage Kitchen (salads), Taste of Sichuan (appears as Soga on google maps)

In the Wisconsin Institute of Discovery, there are three places to eat: Saffron, Aldo's, and Steenbocks

In Union South, there are several options.

Dinner

Oliver's Public house is very close to the InnTowner and is a great choice for dinner. However, the best restaurants in Madison are near the square. We recommend either walking around the square to look for a nice place, or using Yelp or Google Maps.
